The Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz (Department of Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology) will host a thematic seminar in September 2019 to discuss the historic dimension of Western (mainly European) research on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East and the ongoing challenges to the archaeological heritage in the region. During the workshop, co-organized by the University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, Work Package 4 (Heritage) will present its case studies and will discuss its results with other researchers, museum experts and heritage practitioners.
